Members concierge

A concierge who already knows the table.

A 24/7 WhatsApp concierge for members — it remembers the usual, books across the group's rooms, arranges the bespoke, and briefs the floor before a member walks in. It says plainly it's an AI, and it hands the calls it shouldn't make to a person. A members-club concierge concept

Marcus Lee Hi — table for 4 this Saturday, the usual table if it's free. And can you sort a cake for Mei's birthday?
Concierge Evening, Marcus. Lovely — and many happy returns to Mei. "The usual" for you is the window two-top extended to four, away from the pass, with the Manuka-smoked duck and the Bridge Road porter ready for Tommo's pour. Let me hold Saturday and arrange the cake.
Concierge All set. Booked at Marlowe & Finch, Tanjong Pagar, and I've pencilled a quiet after-dinner option at The Finch Room in case you'd like to move on.

Concierge For Mei's cake — our pastry section can do a small celebration cake to bring out with the Rutherglen Muscat you both finish on. One thing I need to check before I promise it:
Arranged on your behalf
  • Table held — window four-top, M&F Tanjong Pagar
  • Floor brief raised — duck + porter, quiet "happy birthday"
  • Cross-venue note — The Finch Room nightcap, on hold
  • ·Cake — confirming an allergy-safe recipe with the kitchen first
Marcus Lee Perfect. Mei's the one with the tree-nut thing, so do flag that.
Concierge Already on it — Mei's profile carries a tree-nut allergy, so I've asked the kitchen for a nut-free cake and flagged the whole table nut-aware. Chef Eleanor's team will confirm the recipe before the night. You'll have a note by tomorrow lunchtime.
Message… Send

One message; three venues' worth of moving parts. The member never sees the plumbing — the booking, the cross-venue hold, the kitchen brief and the allergy check all happen behind one thread.

What it did

Recalled "the usual" from Marcus's golden profile — the window table, the duck, the porter — without him spelling it out.

Booked across the group. Held the table at Marlowe & Finch and pencilled a nightcap at The Finch Room, with one reference (MF-M02218).

Arranged the bespoke. Raised a celebration cake — and stopped to check the recipe rather than promise it blind.

Force-surfaced the allergy. Mei's tree-nut flag drove the cake brief and a nut-aware table note, regardless of anything else on file.

Allergy · floor Tree-nut allergy — Mei Chua (dines with Marcus). Flag to kitchen and section on every booking under this profile. Keep her clear of the smoked ocean trout (bunya nut), the charred broccolini (macadamia) and the Manjimup truffle ice cream (hazelnut). Any celebration cake must be nut-free. This note rides on the booking — it is never gated by marketing consent.
Observed preferences
  • "The usual": Manuka-smoked duck with the Bridge Road porter. Tommo's pairing — ordered nine of fourteen visits. From POS & floor notes

  • Finishes on the Rutherglen Muscat, not coffee. Mei the same. From POS
  • Important date: Mei's birthday, 6 June. Quiet celebration, no fuss at the table. Volunteered via concierge

Tree-nut allergy at the table — Mei Chua

Carried to the kitchen ticket. Nut-free birthday cake confirmed with Chef Eleanor's section. Steer clear of the ocean trout, the broccolini and the truffle ice cream.

1

Window two-top, extended to four, away from the pass

Marcus finds the room loud and has asked for it before. The corner banquette is the next-quietest if it's spoken for.

2

Duck and the Bridge Road porter ready for Tommo's visit

Nine visits in a row it's the duck and the porter — worth a quiet word, and an alternative if they fancy a change tonight.

3

Quiet "happy birthday" for Mei, with the Muscat

No singing, no badge on the table — they both finish on the Rutherglen Muscat. Bring the cake out then.

The brief proposes; the floor delivers. The concierge surfaces the few facts that matter before arrival — the allergy line is the one it will not let a service forget. The table, the porter and the word at the table remain Priya's and Tommo's call.

When the ask is outside policy, it doesn't pretend

The interesting behaviour isn't the booking — it's knowing where the line is, and handing it over with grace.
A same-night private hire — outside policy WhatsApp · members
Marcus Lee Change of plan — can I take over the whole The Finch Room dining room tonight for 18? Closing a deal, need it private from 8pm.
Concierge That's a wonderful idea, and exactly the sort of evening The Finch Room is made for — but I'm going to be honest rather than over-promise. A same-night full private hire sits outside what I'm allowed to confirm: it means closing the room to other members, a minimum spend, and Chef's kitchen plan for the night. That's a host's decision, not mine.
Concierge So I'm not going to say yes and leave you stranded at 8pm. Let me bring in the person who can actually make it happen — and I'll hold what I can in the meantime.
Handed to a human host Passed to Priya Sharma with the full context — "member Marcus Lee, same-night private hire, The Finch Room, ~18 covers from 20:00, deal dinner." Priya will call you within the hour. I've provisionally held the room off general booking so nothing's lost while she confirms.
Why it escalates: a closed-venue private hire carries a minimum spend, displaces other members and needs the kitchen's sign-off — a commercial and operational call that belongs to a host. The concierge states plainly what it can't confirm, holds what it safely can, and routes to Priya rather than inventing a yes.
The lines that don't move
  • It tells you it's an AIWhen a member asks "am I talking to a person?", the concierge says plainly that it's Marlowe & Finch's AI concierge, and names the human host it can hand to. No pretending to be staff.
  • The profile is consentedThe golden profile exists only because the member opted in at sign-up, under Singapore's PDPA. It serves them across the group's rooms, is never sold, and can be seen, corrected or withdrawn on request.
  • It won't over-promiseAnything carrying a commercial commitment, a closure, or a kitchen-safety guarantee goes to a host. The concierge would rather hand over gracefully than confirm something it can't honour.
  • Safety is never gatedAn allergy is force-surfaced to the kitchen and floor on every booking under a profile, whatever the member's marketing choice. Safety never waits on a consent flag.
Under the hood What this is today — and where the members concierge should go next

This page is a design concept, not a live system. The WhatsApp thread, the golden profile, the pre-arrival brief and the escalation are hand-built to show how a members concierge should behave. A working version would be a thin agent over WhatsApp Business, reading the same golden profile and booking tools as the rest of the group — an extension of the guest memory in uc06 into a consented, cross-venue member record. No backend runs behind this mock-up; every figure is synthetic, sized for a small Singapore members club.

On the roadmap

  1. Make WhatsApp the front door. WhatsApp Business is where Singapore members already are. A thin LLM concierge over its API — sharing the booking calendar and FAQ brain from uc01/uc02 — beats a bespoke app no member will install.
  2. Build the golden profile properly. Merge the same member across venues, the phone line and POS into one consented record — carefully, since a wrong merge mixes up two people's allergies. Conservative matching with a human check, surfaced at booking and at arrival.
  3. Real cross-venue booking rails. One concierge that can hold a table at Marlowe & Finch and a nightcap at The Finch Room in a single thread means group-wide availability and a shared reference — not three separate booking systems stitched by hand.
  4. A bespoke-request workflow. Cakes, off-menu dishes, private dining and supplier asks should open a tracked ticket to the right section (kitchen, host, beverage), with the concierge chasing status — never quietly promising what no one has agreed to.
  5. The guardrails don't move. Disclose it's an AI; the profile stays consented and PDPA-governed; allergies stay force-surfaced; anything commercial, exclusive or safety-critical escalates to a human host. The concierge proposes — a person delivers.
