The problem this solves

Draught beer is the highest-margin, highest-shrinkage line in most bars. A 50-litre keg holds about 100 glasses of 500 ml, but almost nobody sells 100. Foam, line cleaning, overpours, free pints and untracked waste all come out of the gap between theoretical and actual yield. Audit data from Bar-i, a US inventory specialist, puts natural waste in a well-run system at 5% or less — a 95% keg yield is achievable (vendor data from audits, not independent research). Flow-meter vendors claim typical unmanaged losses run far higher, up to 20-30% (vendor claims — treat as marketing).

The cellar side leaks too. The Brewers Association's Draught Beer Quality Manual sets the industry standard at line cleaning every 14 days (independent industry body); slip the schedule and beer turns sour on the way to the glass, and nobody notices until a regular does. Rotating taps add a freshness problem: a slow keg sits for weeks, degrading and tying up cash. A small bar with six rotating taps has all three problems at a scale the enterprise draught-tech vendors mostly ignore.

What it costs to ignore

Simple arithmetic, labelled as ours: at a typical Singapore draught price of about SGD 13 a pint, a 50-litre keg is roughly SGD 1,300 of retail value. A bar pouring at 90% yield instead of an achievable 95% loses about 5 pints per keg, around SGD 65; across 8 kegs a month that is roughly SGD 500 a month in retail value. Vendor-claimed losses of around 20% would triple that figure — treat that end as best-case recovery, not a planning number. The harder cost to price is quality: a missed cleaning cycle serves off-tasting beer to every guest until someone catches it, and in a regulars-led bar that damage compounds. No credible Singapore-specific quantified estimate is available.

What good looks like

How it works

Flow measurement produces the actual; the till produces the theoretical; the software explains the gap and runs the calendar.

The hardware is cheap and self-installable at small tap counts; the reconciliation and calendar logic is where the value sits.

Vendor landscape

Singapore-native gap. No Singapore-native keg or cellar management tool was identified. The space is US hardware (Kegtron, BarTrack, BeerSAVER) and smart-tap plays (Pubinno). Notably, WISK — the best-known AI bar-inventory tool — states plainly that beer-heavy venues relying on flow meters are not its fit, so the small beer-led end of the market is genuinely underserved.
VendorOriginSGD pricingSuited to
Kegtron ProUS≈ SGD 685 per dual-tap unit one-off; cloud ≈ SGD 2.60/tap/monthA small bar wanting cheap per-keg measurement — three self-installed units cover six taps for about SGD 2,055 one-off
BarTrackUS≈ SGD 13/line/month plus unpublished hardwareMulti-venue groups wanting draught quality telemetry (temperature, pressure, line cleanliness); positioned at chains and stadiums
BeerSAVERUSInstall from ≈ SGD 1,280; monitoring from ≈ SGD 127/monthVenues where staff overpouring is the known leak; the monthly fee is heavy for a six-tap bar
PubinnoTurkey/US≈ SGD 640/tap/year baseline, negotiatedStadiums and high-throughput draught; not off-the-shelf for an SME bar
Untappd for BusinessUS≈ SGD 1,150-1,535/year (third-party-reported; vendor does not publish pricing)Craft-led bars trading on rotating-tap discovery — digital tap lists and menus, but manual keg entry, no pour measurement
KegshoeCanadaFrom ≈ SGD 51/monthBreweries tracking keg fleets out at accounts — brewery-side, not bar cellar operations

Worth knowing: Kegtron measures flow but leaves the variance-versus-POS reconciliation and the cleaning calendar to you. BeerSAVER's payback claims rest on its own loss estimates. Untappd's pricing comes from a competitor's guide, not the vendor. Taplist.io covers the digital tap-list job alone from about SGD 43/month if consumer-app reach doesn't matter. Kegshoe, Ollie and Ekos serve breweries, not bars, despite appearing in the same searches.

Buy or build?

For a six-tap bar, buy the measurement: Kegtron Pro at roughly SGD 2,100 one-off plus under SGD 16/month is the only option priced for your scale, and it installs without a sales call. The enterprise draught platforms cost more per tap at six taps than at forty. The reconciliation, cleaning calendar and freshness logic on top is simple enough to run in a spreadsheet — or as a thin software layer if you want flags and reminders to arrive by themselves.
